ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Texas, but always dreamed of life beyond my own backyard. So I studied International Relations in college, studied abroad as much as humanly possible, and fell in love with the idea that there really is no one right way to live; and that very distinction is what makes life so beautiful.

I love meeting people with different stories than my own and what better place to do so and see the world than couchsurfing?

Interests

I work in finance but I'm a total hippie at heart (yogi / vegetarian/ health nut)

I'd be glad to share a yoga practice, visit a local art museum or festival or share travel stories over local cuisine.

I backpacked Europe in college and traveled quite a bit in SouthEast Asia/Ukraine/Russia. Lately I've been exploring my home country with my husband, but we love to take spontaneous trips together.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My friends and I took a 7hr. cargo night boat in Thailand from the mainland to Koh Tao island. This was definitely not a tourist attraction--a rickety vibrantly painted boat packed with local islanders wedged between and atop pallets of water bottles, crates of eggs, etc. The ocean was just a foot or two below the open window at my head. I slept aside the fishes! And made some new local Thai village friends.

I'm learning, constantly learning, Russian. If you'd like to practice with me, teach me, or learn from me, (Russian or English) I'd be happy to!

I know a little Spanish, maybe enough to get by, but I'd love to learn!
And I'm happy to teach English to anyone interested.
