About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To get to know new and fascinating people from all over the world
ABOUT ME
I guess I'm very friendly and quite funny :) I love to tell stories, even invent new ones, especially for my daughter. I'm never against a glass of fine wine, but I'm strongly against smoking. I love to play any kind of games, being card games, board games or whatsoever. I tend to be a good father of my lovely daughter, even though she lives with her mother. And I hope my friends would say that I'm a true friend of theirs.
PHILOSOPHY
Live your dreams - but try hard not to hurt anyone in the process
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Although first I joined mainly to surf, I've realised that hosting people can be just as much fun - or even more :) As I don't have that much time to travel anymore, I do a lot of hosting instead, and I feel very lucky 'cause I've met some truly great and good people on the way.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
First I was a little bit frustrated because my first 3 would-be surfers declined it at the end (one was a no-show, though later apologised, two replied quite late that they wouldn't come), but since I've had a lot of great hosting experiences, from 2 to 5 nights, from Asia to South-America, and all were cool, we had some great fun, and all of it made me sure CS is a far greater and more important initiative than I had thought.
Interests
My overwhelming favourite hobby is speleology, and in reality it is so much more than a mere hobby for me. It is adventure, sport, friendship, devotion. Besides, I'm a true lover of movies, used to have to run my own movie club to show my friends the most important films they might have missed. Playing poker, or other games with friends is a great pass-time as well. But best is to be with my daugter :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: a lot! I'm a fan of movies, I even used to hold screenings for friends of movies not so well-known in order to broaden their horizon :) But, if I have to pick up a bunch, let's say: favourite genders are sci-fi and western, but I'm in love with contemporenaen Danish & South-Korean movies as well.
Music: Rock - blues, mostly, the likes of Johnny Cash, Bruce Springsteen, Leonard Cohen are on top of my list alongside bands like Dire Straits, U2 or Gn'R.
Books: Sci-fi (Asimov, Lem, Heinlein, Herbert, Haldeman) and fantasy (Tolkien, George R. R. Martin), but I love Dostoievski and Merle, and above all: H. P. Lovecraft.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
First: getting to know that my daughter is on the way to being born :)
Some more from recent times:
Staring up from down below of Kacna cave (Slovenia) to the sunshine of the twin entrances above;
Seeing my mother start to cry on Christmas Eve as she realised that she will actally do see Paris as result of the present from me and my brother to them.
Reach -650 metres in the Berger cave in France
Visit the Azores - a truly beautiful set of islands, just breathtaking every minute I spent there
New Zealand, every single square metre of it!
Teach, Learn, Share
To teach? I hope one day someone from CS will say I've taught him/her sg, but for sure it won't be any practical skill... :) But i can share everything I know about being a father - a good one, I hope -, or explain about movies without end :)
To learn? I'm eager getting to know new people, what and how they think of the world, economically, politically, theologically, or in any way.
