About Me

Hello everyone, I'm Claudio and I have been living in Madrid since 2016.

I was born in Caserta, Italy but I spent my childhood in Milan and Isernia. Then I moved to Brussels where I studied a Bachelor degree in Translation and Interpreting. During my third year, I did an exchange in Beijing, China.

I moved to Madrid because my best friend was here. Meanwhile I did a Master in Linguistics and one in Teaching and that is why I ended up being a teacher in a secondary school.

My passion for languages and other cultures brought me to my profession. I think the most rewarding in life is see your students achieving their goals and be part of their learning process.

I am an animal lover and a good chef and eater. I think that you can learn a lot about people by how they cook and eat!

I love travelling even though now I stopped moving around the world every weekend.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Started this amazing experience in November 2014 thanks to my flatmate Mada in Brussels, We had people coming over for a whole year every day and it was amazing!

Interesting people coming to share some moments of their lives with you it is one of the best thing you can ever get in life.

Couchsurfing is a philosophy, travelling for free, meeting awesome people, knowing more about other countries and most importantly about yourself!

Interests

Languages have always been one of the biggest interests in my life. I would love to speak to everyone in their mother tongue but my brain has been asking for mercy for a long time now.

Currently I speak Italian, English, French and Spanish fluently.

I can have a conversation in Dutch and Chinese and I am an intermediate speaker in Japanese.

I would love to add Arabic, Hebrew and Korean to my list!

Music, Movies, and Books

I do not have a type of music that I like the most, it really depends on the moment. I could go from Ancient Instrumental Japanese Music to Metal.

I really fancy fantasy books and films. Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings but also Murakami and Classics from English Literature.

I started a collection of Harry Potter books when I was a teenager and I have not stopped since.

If you come visit me and have one of these books, please let me know! I only have eight versions left to complete my collection!
