ABOUT ME

I live by some simple principles

I'm a painter and visual artist - trained in school. I lived in Japan where I taught english and went to school. I speak Japanese fluently and have had so many great Japanese friends over the years. I lived in Chicago - too cold. Now I find myself here in Korea saving money for my epic journey across asia by motorcycle!!

PHILOSOPHY

1. Our lives do not have a purpose- it is our responsibility to create our own purpose.
2. Nothing means anything by itself- we make things mean something, good or bad.
3. Until we take control of our lives, we are not free to do anything.
4. There are only 2 things: What really happens in life, and the story we make up about it. Toss the second part, focus on the first part.
5. Enjoy this life! Die and its game over!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I provide a safe and sturdy couch in a comfortable city near Seoul for the weary traveler.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only slept on a few couches in this life, but I plan to make big use of them in summer of 2008. I want to host some people this year so I can do my part. Also, I want to show you around Korea! Let's roll!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once, the lead singer of the "Flaming Lips" came to my painting show and I got his autograph.

Also, when I was 24, I had a 43 Year Old Girlfriend.. that was pretty amazing. ha ha.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach English, and some Japanese too. I can teach basic painting skills as well as how to ride a motorcycle.
