About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To practice my meditation a bit more; To learn to edit videos, and always improve my languages, and get to know people and cultures.

ABOUT ME

I see myself as a true cosmopolitan person, my father is Brazilian and my mother is Scottish, I have Portuguese, Catalan, English, African, South American Aboriginal and even a little Jewish and South Asian ancestors, I love languages, I'm Buddhist and an Artist. Mostly create art in Virtual Reality or on the PC, but I also paint acrylic on canvas and make small scale clay models. I love architecture of all kinds and that is one of my greatest inspirations for my work. I'm deeply interested in people and culture. So many things we can think or be and dream of. It's fascinating and always great to meet people. I'm gay, and that's a fundamental part of my life, though I could say the same about being interested in Languages or technology or sci-fi or history... and a chunk of other contradictory yet essential stuff in my life... A very important fact one should bear in mind especially if you visit me is also the fact I live in the Basque Country( not in spain).

PHILOSOPHY

Be good, but have fun.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Though I've had few CS experiences as a guest, I've mostly been a host.
Currently I live in a tiny house type apartment, and I’m still organizing it to be able to accept guests again, as it’s only 23 square meters, and I don’t feel it’s quite there yet. But I usually spend time with my guests, explain what there is to see in town and like to have a little walk around the old town with people. do come visit.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

CS is great, and I can't imagine my life without the un-rhythmic flow of couchsurfers ringing the buzzer to be let in, the sitting on the couch for a chat with a stranger and the expectation and excitement that he/she too can be another friend for life, can share a fantastic story, teach you something you never thought of learning, open your eyes, help you discover your own life a little better or the world itself. Or maybe none, let's face it, we're all different, but the opportunity to bump into such different people in today's world is a very precious present. Randomness producing infinite combinations in infinite beauty.

Music, Movies, and Books

Grande Sertao Veredas. A lovely Brazilian book written in a very strong dialect and a beautiful lens on life itself.
Other than that: the language of Dickens and Hemingway; the inspiration and ecstasy of Whitman's Leaves of Grass, say something about me.

Music: Dhebashish Battacharia & Bob Brozman's Mahima album; The Kora from West Africa; the shamisen from Japan, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald form the US, Caetano Veloso and Chico Buarque from Brazil; Zap Mama -at first; Astor Piazzola.ar; Blues, Joanna Newsom,Kate Rusby, Vashti Bunyan. The guitar. Chopin.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I swam in the sea, I saw the blue surround me, I saw the space beneath me, I felt submerged, inside, the movement.
I felt the cold on the top of the mountain,
The distances in the desert, the smallness of me and my time.
I met so many people.. realised I was one of them, saw myself mixed fuzzed blurred, tried to speak, and smiled at the sound of a song. At the infinite beauty of another smile.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach... sounds too arrogant. We can try to learn together. I have many answers and many more questions to explore. I will eagerly share my opinions, and ask for yours.
