Overview
About Me
I'm 33 and from Brisbane, Australia. I'm currently having a break from work and doing some backpacking.
I work in politics in Australia, so it's great to have a break and chill out.
I have dual French citizenship and lived in France 15 years ago. I was living in London for a few years until the pandemic sent me back to Australia.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As a student I used to host couchsurfers with my old housemates since 2012 and met some great and interesting people over the years. My old housemate Joel highjacked our house couchsurfing account for his euro-adventure two years ago but all our reviews are still there: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/kurt-joel-simon
Until now I've only been a host so now that I'm on the road I'm looking forward to doing some couchsurfing of my own!
Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite novel and film is Dune.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once ate roast pig on a spit in the hanger bay of an American aircraft carrier.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to meet some interesting new people who can share their perspectives on the places I'm visiting. I also enjoy learning languages.
Always up for a few drinks and a yarn to solve the world's problems.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can whip up a mean bachelor curry, but besides that my culinary skills aren't very impressive! However I can answer all your questions about crocodiles, yellow crazy ants and all the various Australian plants and animals that will try to kill you if you ever visit our country.
