About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To stay ahead of the game...but to never stop playing it.

ABOUT ME

I glean satisfaction from the random and inexplicable. I always have something to say. It usually adds to the conversation, but sometimes it's just, "Butts." I've lived in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Florida, North Carolina, Arizona, Turkey, New York, New Jersey, British Columbia, Ontario, the UK, and Kyrgyzstan. I play competitive Scrabble. I fell asleep on the subway once and woke up in the Bronx. I know the meaning of life. I collect shot glasses. I was on Jeopardy! I play cribbage with strangers. I am obsessed with lists. I have ten tattoos. I often get lost in my own brain. I'm a linguistics geek. The ampersand is my favorite grammatical symbol.

PHILOSOPHY

Just be. That's kind of how I roll. Or at least I try to.

Music, Movies, and Books

I strongly support movies, music and books.

But really, I'm open to all genres...as long as it's quality product.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I stayed overnight at Everest Base Camp in Tibet a few years ago. In the morning, when I unwrapped myself from the dozens of blankets, I reached for my water bottle, which I'd left on the floor next to my mat. It had frozen solid.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you're ever wanting to do baking but can't find brown sugar, try a Chinese grocery (there's one just about everywhere) and ask for red sugar. It's slightly different, but it'll do the trick.
