CURRENT MISSION

I live life through learning, and learning through experiencing. My mission is simply to accrue as many experiences as physically possible within my lifetime.

ABOUT ME

I'm outgoing, personable, well-spoken and polite. I guess it's a Southern thing.

I take great pride in what I do and how I do it, and I love meeting new people. Road trips are a huge passion of mine, as I've been on four 4,000+ mile road trips for pleasure and a huge number otherwise.

My husband and I are nerds and often travel off the beaten path. We prefer to rent a car and go find adventures ourselves rather than following a tour group and have regular board game nights, murder mystery nights, and I host trivia as well as being a competitive Esports coach, among other interests.

PHILOSOPHY

Stealing, besides murder/physical harm, is my biggest pet peeve. Moreso than the average person, I find it disgusting to take something of someone whom worked hard to achieve it.

As for religion/spirituality, I've actually formulated my own system of beliefs that I would love to sit down and chat about. More or less, it turns out my view reflect Universalism.

I embrace innovation and technology and currently serve as the Faculty Fellow for AI and Pedagogical Innovation at my university.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was an active part of the community years ago and am just revisiting the site. I'm hoping to dive back into the culture, including both hosting and crashing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My favorite hosting experience was with a German who was hitch-hiking across the States. He has never seen a farm and most of the animals we had, and had a passion for American classic cars. It was great to see him experience something so radically different for him.

Surfing-wise, my favorite experience came in Portland, Maine when my friends and I ended up staying with an amazing lady whom I regret not having more time to get to know.

I'm a big reader, both fiction and non-fiction. Those can fall into any number of categories, including but not limited to history, theoretical physics/science, fantasy, and data science, just to name a few.

I also love frisbee golf, photography, and sports/gaming in general.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Not a big movie fan, but some of my favorites are V for Vendetta, Broken Hearts Club, Get Real, and Barbie (yeah, I said it).

Musically, I have an extremely eclectic set of tastes. While always shifting, my favorites right now are Zach Bryan, Lizzo, Taylor Swift, Scissor Sisters, and general Irish pub rock.

Some of my favorite books of all time are "A Brief History of Nearly Everything", "The Courage to be Disliked", and "All the Light You Cannot See".

Swimming in the base of a 1,000ft waterfall in Yosemite National Park. Not much else like that in the world.

Learning is the most important goal that we, as a species, can reach. We must strive for it with everything we are, every day.

We have a separate guest room, complete with its own bathroom. We have a modern kitchen and plenty of space for relaxation in fairly sized lot on a ridge in the mountains. We also have a very energetic Golden Retriever named Bast - so beware if you have allergies!
