Overview
About Me
I stand out in a crowd, for the good and the bad and alsobecause I'm just a littlebit taller than most people around. I have a vivid phantasy and enjoy nuances and the quiet just as much as the occasional ouverture, I aim to have an interesting time wherever I go and with whomever I'm going.
I'm not particularly shy, I just enjoy my own company an may appear to be a little reserved, I'm ambituous and willing to take the consequences for my acting (which is necessary, because boneheadedness runs in the family). I don't gossip, yet I'm quite talkative once I find some common ground with whomever I happen to meet. I'm looking forward to meeting you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Back 2009 Couchsurfing got plenty of attention in the media. I decided to give it a try at some point.
Later that year, in December I was getting massively bored while sitting in university and decided to take a plane and leave for the airport ind Düsseldorf. I saw an advert of Madrid - 19 degrees and sunny - and bought myself a ticket. Having arrived there, most hotels and hostels were fully booked for any but my first night, when couchsurfing came to my mind again. Laura, Sara, Marta and Santiago were awesome hosts for my first couchsurfing experience (which was also their first time).
I believe couchsurfing is an awesome way to meet new people, be that as a host or while travelling. Having mostly hosted, I plan on travelling a little more myself - New Years resolution
, here I come.
Interests
I do like cooking (as long as it does not involve peeling potatoes) and photography, love to go for a swim or a turn of sailing and have a particular fondness for just enjoying the atmosphere of 'foreign' places.
Music, Movies, and Books
I love those 1960s to 80s TV shows, M.A.S.H., Yes Minister and Gomer Pyle, to name a few only. Moviewise I enjoyed Frost/Nixon and Serial (Bad) Weddings (that title seriously sounds a lot better in German or the French original) - I have slept well in the last episode of the Transformer franchise.
As for books - I've read many, mostly Thriller and Crime Stories but some of the classics as well. Currently on my nightdesk you'll find a copy of Petros Markaris' 'Der Großaktionär'. I have a thing for those grumpy protagonists ...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Was locked in a museum for some hours - much to the amusement of Copenhagen police.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm interested in many things, history, politics and technology. I know a little about a lot and I definitely want to learn paragliding (only thing is, I need to overcome that fear of height first). I will get there eventually.
As for more day to day activities, I'm quite decent at sharpening knives and a really good navigator on both, land and sea.
