ABOUT ME
I used to work as both a bike messenger and as a patent consultant - now I'm a natural wood designer/constructor and a patent attorney... Bicycles is still a big thing for me, and it was the bike messenger community that got me introduced to CouchSurfing.
I am a man of few principles but many good intentions and beliefs. I believe that giving trust and showing confidence is the 'only' way to get it back. I believe that contributing to a group of people is to 'only' way to get a good group experience.
Otherwise, I love doing sports but seldom make competitions - I just like being physically active, being of a restless nature.
I travel when I can, and my job brings me to Norway and Denmark often, and elsewhere sometimes.
PHILOSOPHY
I like sharing. The resources of the Earth would last longer if we shared more instead of having individual apartments with individual washing machines and individual refrigirators etc. If we do transportation together we not only save on fuels, but we also get to meet more poeple, and thereby understand other points of view than our own. I hitchhike often, and know the Danish Roadsystem from this point of view.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosted a Christmas in Copenhagen gathering 2007 - a great experience! Host now & then and have house-swapped through CS.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had done some in relation to the bike messenger championships, and then I met Pedro from Spain at a bike messenger championsship in Oslo. He lived with me for allmost month afterward and introduced med to couchsurfing.

Music, Movies, and Books
The best book I read recently is definately "The Third Policeman" by Flann O'Brien. This is such as strange book with the most amazing features in it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have done a lot of hiking, summer and winter. The two best experiences was a 12-day solo hike in northern Norway with the aim of complete isolation. I succeeded by hiking off-season and a bit off the beaten track, and didn't see or hear (or talk to...) other people for 12 days. Another was a 4 day ski-trip on Svalbard/Spitsbergen, 78 degrees north and -30 degrees cold ;-P It was amazing to experience the harsh nature I had read about when reading of the arctic expeditions as a kid.
Oh, and then I survived a pretty crazy stunt in New York, including crossing a bridge in the highway lane on my bicycle that ended in a crash, thereafter getting lost in Brooklyn on 05:30 on the 5th of July due to shock from the crash and alcohol(and possibly some tobacco), passing out in the subway in a pool of blood and more before ending up at a hospital (collarbone broken two places and seven stitches in the head) - but that is an entirely different story that you'll have to inquire about :-P
Teach, Learn, Share
I work in intellectual property right (IPR) consulting, mainly with patents. I know a lot about patents and patent related issues, and are always willing to share this for the greater good. If there's ever a CS patent issue I'd be glad to assist.
I also know a lot about bicycles and fixing them, and have a small workshop for this purpose. So if going CSing on a bike, I can always be helpful if you're nearby.
