Overview
About Me
Online editor at Wisconsin Public Television, working in Madison, WI. I used to work in photography and still do some video production. These days I've been doing more web development than anything, which (surprisingly) I LOVE. I also love a good cup of coffee. Spent many years living between Wisconsin and Belgium, and have learned to appreciate good beer, brats and moules-frites.
I have a serious passion for traveling, but I can be quite the homebody. I love to explore new places, foods and cultures, but I also love reading, gaming and a good quiet night on the couch with my cats.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm a firm believer in spreading culture and information, and I want to do everything I can to help the process along. I joined CS at 18, and I felt like I'd found a group that I could truly click with. Since then, CS has proved to be the most supportive and inspiring network of people that I know. I have been saved from sleeping under a bridge or in a car MULTIPLE times by this organization. Glad to be able to host, now.

Music, Movies, and Books
Lately I've been going through a noir phase (i.e. Maltese Falcon) and have recently fallen in love with old Westerns. Everything Wes Anderson, anything from Studio Ghibli and any other beautifully animated pieces like The Triplets of Belleville or the Suicide Shop.
I've always loved the 1800s when it comes to lit. Anna Karenina is my latest fixation. Love Zola. Barbara Kingsolver is probably my favorite contemporary writer. Very interested in BD & graphic novels, esp. journalistic crossover types like Joe Sacco , Emmanuel Guibert & Manu Larcenet.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I haven't really done anything amazing yet; I've seen some pretty amazing sights, though: The view of the mountains surrounding Machu Picchu at 5 am. The Springboks winning the world cup while I was in South Africa. New Year's Eve in Liege, Belgium - the snow falling on the Meuse, and so many people in the streets. The Walker protests in Madison in 2011.
