Über mich
I've got a lot of info listed below! Since I graduated college in 2021, I've also been working on organic farms and learning interesting skills that way.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
It's hard to really understand the everyday lives of people in the places I travel to, and I like to have some sort of window into that (as well as get to know locals). I really don't like going to a place in the typical touristy fashion, checking off sites and snapping pictures in a rush with a strict schedule. My reason for travelling is to get to know all the wonderfully different people in the world and gain perspectives, as someone from a really isolated rural area of the US, and couchsurfing is definitely one of the easiest ways to do that! Of course, the famous places and local food draw me too, but that is all best when shared with others :)

Musik, Filme und Bücher
Music: I go through phases, but always love me some grunge and metal. Russian trap's a thing I discovered recently, and I’m getting into older classic rock from the 70’s. Indie when I’m in the mood.
Pearl Jam, Calle 13, Silvio Rodriguez, Arctic Monkeys, Pescado Rabioso, Red Hot Chili Peppers, A Perfect Circle, Metallica, System of a Down, Fleetwood Mac, Alice In Chains, Rammstein, Mercedes Sosa,
Movies: I’m famously uncultured in movies—if you ask me if I’ve seen it, the answer’s probably no (but I want to fix it). Of the little that I’ve seen, I really enjoyed Django and Baby Driver
Books: 1984, The Four Agreements, some John Green stuff.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
I went to Japan at the end of my freshman year at university for an anti-nuclear protest, walking 8 hours a day for 25 days in the summer. I’d never flown before, nor had had I traveled outside of the US. I talked with survivors of the bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, went to memorials, and learned a lot about US-Japan relations that I never would have learned in any history class.
Lehren, lernen, teilen
I can teach drawing and art skills. I'm also currently experimenting with making vegan food and would love to teach/learn together how to make new foods! Cooking is one of my favorite communal experiences :) I also know a little bit about nutrition and can share my knowledge on that. I love to sing and am VERY novice on guitar, but would love to share music with others! I'm looking to learn about different cultures and experiences of life, how to play instruments, spin fire props (like poi), sustainability hacks, DANCING, fun news ways of moving my body, and really just about whatever people are passionate about. I am an extremely curious person and am always eager to learn about just about everything (it can get a little overwhelming at times, even). I love learning about the history of places and people especially.
Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann
I love cooking, especially vegetarian/vegan, if you want to try plant-based foods that are actually tasty :)
