About Me
Kya:
Currently training to be a chef, I love to cook, and can whip up some pretty good vegetarian meals. (Although you’re welcome to eat meat with Darren as well!)
I love good food, good people, good conversations and good beer, and can take you to get some pretty decent craft beers if you’re into that!
I’m very easy going and happy to make plans depending on your interests, whether you want to just chill at home, or go out in search of adventures!
I love the Great Ocean Road, and all the little stops along the way, and if it works out that I have a few days free, I’d be more than happy to show you along some of it. Or if you’ll be continuing on from our place, I can help you plan your trip, and provide some suggestions for where you should stop!
Darren:
Currently studying sound engineering and have a room set up at home to record music.
I’m always looking for people to play music with. I sing, play guitar and drums, (Kya also plays bass and sings) so am happy to accommodate any kind of jam session, and if anything good comes up, we can just hit record!
I play original music exclusively. I don’t know any covers, so if you’re happy to just jam along, we can make something up together.
We would love for people to bring along their weird and wonderful instruments, but if not, we have plenty to choose from.
Happy to show you the local nightlife; breweries, pubs, live music, but we’re not nightclub people, sorry!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We were introduced to the couchsurfing life while travelling Europe in 2013, and had some amazing experiences.
Our hosts went out of their way to show us around and give us a good time in their country, and we made some lasting friendships.
Since then, we try to include some couchsurfing in all our travels, and we hope to provide similar experiences for people visiting us.
We both work some strange hours sometimes, so are not always able to host (and won't accept surfers on our night shift weekends) but when we can, we would love to hang out and show you around our little corner of the earth!
Interests
We love the travellers life, and look forward to meeting people from all around the world, swapping stories and getting inspired for future travel!
We're open to all kinds of adventures and want to part ways as friends, not just guests.
