About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am on a mission to travel the world! Although who isn't? My mission is to learn as much as I can about the world and people around me.

ABOUT ME

Hi guys! My name is Kyla Cangiano. I am 20 years old and I am studying Anthropology in university. I am a server and bartender at a local pub here in North Bay. I took a gap year in between high school and university to backpack Europe and I can honestly say it was an incredible experience. It opened my eyes to all the possibilities the world has to offer. Everyday I woke up to a new adventure, and although we had good days and bad I wouldn't change a thing! I learned so much more about myself and the world around me then I had in any classroom. I strongly believe that my trip was such a memorable experience thanks to all the wonderful people I met. It is crazy the people you meet by simply saying hi to a stranger in a coffee shop! Doing exactly that I made life long friends from all across the world. I am so thankful for the experiences I have had to far and just can't wait for my journey to continue! Considering I am in school now and working I have to cut my trips down a little shorter. Next on the list I would like to discover more of my own country... CANADA! So I am planning a little cross country trip for this summer! I would love to meet some fellow Canadians learn all about their home towns and share stories!

PHILOSOPHY

I think I'm still trying to figure it out. For now I believe that all people and cultures have unique and special qualities that should be treasured by all. I believe that interpreting this world from many perspectives is the best way to get the most out of the life you're given. My favorite quote it "Be the change you wish to see in the world" -Gandhi. I also believe that you should live your life to the fullest. You only get one life, don't let anything hold you back, live it up. A life with no regrets! It is so important to just be who you are and let yourself be happy! You are responsible for your own happiness.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I have ever done is travel to Costa Rica on a mission trip. I went for a month to build, paint, and re-build schools, an old folks home, a rehab center and a place for disabled people. It was the most amazing life changing experience. I learn to truly appreciate everything I have and not to take the little thing for granted. I learned how much one pencil can mean to someone and how good I smile can make you feel. The people I met there have become lifetime friends and the memories I made have influenced the person I am today.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well I have a lot to learn that's for sure! I love learning about other cultures and how other people live. As for teaching I'm not too sure how much I have to offer at this point in my life. I suppose I could just teach people how to live their lives to the fullest, with no regrets. I could listen to people's stories offer them my advice. I am a very good listener! Also I speak English, French and a bit of Spanish, so I could help teach them a new language. Oh I have lots to share! I could tell you stories until your ears fall off!
