À propos de moi

I am a 27-year-old writer and journalist who still has a hard time picking the right sized container for leftovers. I have been a local journalist in my hometown on Long Island, New York for the past three years, and now I'm trying to do something completely different.

I've written a strange historical/speculative fiction book called Only the Ocean, a passion project that's one part Patrick O'Brian, another part Philip K. Dick, and all parts nonsense.

I'm currently renting a friends attic so I have no means of letting people stay, but once I do get an apartment of my own I will certainly allow people to crash when they're in the area. If I end up staying on Long Island, I can also offer you many, many tidbits of the place's sordid history.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I'm going on a multi-month European backpacking trip, pandemic style. After months of looking for a new job and getting rejection after rejection, I said "F*** it" and decided I would go to Europe alone and do what essentially is the new-age version of what our hippy hitchhiking parents and grandparents did when they were going through their "wild days."

I'm doing a pandemic tour, which is essentially whatever countries are currently open for American tourists.

I'm taking a long, roundabout trip first to Paris, then east to Normandy and south to Bordeaux before eventually making it into Spain to visit Barcelona. Then it's back west, and (hopefully) going through France again to make it to Italy, and south from there to take a boat or plane over to Greece. Then a last leg would be to make it to Denmark and if I'm feeling frisky over to Iceland.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

It's really just a lot of little things. I have been a local journalist for three years, and I like to think that my work has helped a number of people, each in a small way, from exposing racism at a local restaurant to relating the history of gay pride on Long Island.

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

I can share a unique perspective on things, coming from my experience writing and reporting. I really enjoy hearing how local people live and learning what it may mean to live in a way different from what I'm used to.

Pays que j'ai visités
