About Me
Hi everyone! I’m Kyle, and I am currently teaching English in the north of France, in the city of Metz. I taught English in the South of France for seven months in 2021/2022, and then I traveled around Europe through the end of 2022. I’ve also completed a few different long hikes both in the US and abroad over the past few years. The longest one so far was the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) at around 4200 km (2650 mi)! I started couchsurfing in November 2016 when I was studying abroad in New Zealand, and it was one of my best experiences there (and one of the many reasons why I went back!) Everyone I met was so welcoming, warm, and friendly. In summer 2017 I traveled around Europe and couch surfed some more, and once again I met some incredible people. I continued couchsurfing in 2019 during a tenth month travel expedition, and I have continued to use couchsurfing whenever I find myself in a new place. This app has created some of my best travel memories and stories, and I have met some amazing people through couchsurfing. I studied geology in college, and I love talking about rocks and being outside.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Free accommodation is amazing, and I always enjoy meeting new people. When I was in New Zealand I met some awesome hosts, and I'm looking forward to meeting many more awesome people! Now that I have stayed with a lot of different people in a lot of different countries, I’ve found that in general people around the world are just nice. And I feel very grateful for the wonderful things people have done for me, and I try hard to integrate myself into the lives of the people that I stay with. I don’t want to be a passerby. I want to get to know you, whoever you are. And that’s probably the biggest reason why I use CS. I have also used CS numerous times for events and group meetups. They are a great way to connect with a lot of different people, especially locals!

What I Can Share with Hosts
More than happy to help around the house/provide food or drinks. Typically I try to scan the host's profile to see what they like to receive in return for the free bed.
