About Me

When I am at home, I typically work 60 hour work weeks.
I live in the countryside about 45 minutes outside of Ottawa, ON. This means that unfortunately I have yet to have a couchsurfing request sent to me.
This is due to the lack of public transit as well as lack of tourism in Ottawa. If you are interested in me hosting you, let me know at least 2 days in advance so that I can organize the logistics.

Things to do in Ottawa:
-Head to the Ottawa Valley and visit a sugarbush
-Go curling in Almonte, Pakenham, Carleton Place or Arnprior
-Senators hockey game
-Gatineau Park
-Parliament Hill tour
-Shopping on Rideau St. (Downtown)
-Visit the Byward Market (Buskerfest is an excellent annual event)
-See the night-life in the Byward Market
-Visit the Rideau St. McDonalda at night (dangerous activity that can provide a hilarious story or two)
-Skate on the Canal
-Old Jail tour
-Tulip Festival
-Bluesfest

Places to eat in Ottawa/Ottawa Valley:
Downtown
-El Camino (Latin/Mexican) w/Cocktail bar
Kanata
-Central Bierhaus (LOTS of beer and german food)
Pakenham
-Pakenham General Store (Classic treats such as their adored Sticky Buns)
Richmond
-Royals Restaurant
Arnprior
-Anrrim Truck Stop (Excellent, affordable meals in an extremely clean restaurant for those traveling via the Trans-Canada highway.

Tips: Public transit is slow, expensive and unreliable in Ottawa. Use Uber as often as you can. Ottawa may not be populated, but covers are fair amount of land. Walking aside from the downtown core is not the most convenient.

Possibly able to provide transportation in/around city.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've grown bored of living in a small rural Canadian village (population 200). I would like to learn about people, places and different cultures.
I enjoy trying new things, especially unique foods that wouldn't be found back home.

Interests

My passion is music and comedy.
I have been to so many live concerts that I cannot figure out the exact number.

  • music festivals
  • politics
  • reading
  • music
  • live music
  • stand up comedy
  • comedy

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all kinds of music and try and make a point of seeing local live music whenever I visit a new city.
My goal is to see at least 1 live show in each city that I visit.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went to to top of the CN tower and somewhat conquered my fear of heights...

What I Can Share with Hosts

A sense of humor and a sterotypically thick Canadian accent. Not the best cook, but I try.

Australia, Cambodia, Canada, England, India, Ireland, Laos, Malaysia, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Thailand, United States, Viet Nam
