About Me

I'm a musician (play guitar and sing), world traveler, rock climber, avid reader, amateur chef (read: loves to cook at home... especially with friends and for my hosts/hostesses), and videographer/photographer. I'm very extroverted but also appreciate my alone time. I'm self employed and will be chronicling my travels starting in June of '18. I love learning about different cultures, languages, food, customs, and adapting to new scenarios. I'm very respectful, I clean up after myself, and try to go above and beyond to show my appreciation in any way that I can. Honesty, kindness, and respect are very important to me. Even though I'm just starting my Couchsurfing profile as of May '18, I would be happy to earn your trust (something I'm sure that might prove difficult in the beginning with lack of history/reviews) in a number of ways. We can video chat via Skype, Google Hangouts, or with a phone call via Whatsapp.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm couchsurfing to develop a network of friends around the world while I travel whilst keeping an open mind and open heart.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: gypsy jazz (first and foremost... think Django Reinhardt), classic rock, Classical, Cuban, Indian, Tango, Latin, Flamenco, Metal, Folk, Reggae, Malian, Persian, should I have just said all kinds? I don't think so... not a fan of 80s music and EDM is too repetitive for me.. same for most rap although I can get down with the old stuff (A Tribe Called Quest, Biggie Smalls, and the like). Oh, and Blues of course.

Movies: Historical fiction, film noir, Rom coms, period films, foreign films... Braveheart, Kingdom of Heaven, Snatch, Monty Python, It Happened One Night, Ip Man

Books: Historical fiction (Patrick O'Brian Novels), history (The Gulag Archipelago) philosophy & self help (C. G. Jung, Jordan Peterson) neuroscience, fantasy :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Pay off my student loans and embark on this journey of being a self employed musician/photographer/videographer.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach: guitar, general cooking skills or knife skills (I went to culinary school), help with your English if you need, meditation, yoga, photography/videography skills

I would like to learn more about your culture, customs, language, music, and etiquette.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can be a source of entertainment with guitar/singing (you can see my youtube channel if you like but it's still in its infancy... I only have two videos of my playing guitar and singing, but at least you will get an idea of the quality of entertainment, my channel is Kyle Allen Tindal). I also love to cook and if there were one way to show my appreciation best, it would be to cook for my hosts. Nothing brings people together like sharing a meal cooked together. I can share my time, the one thing that we can never get back and the most valuable thing that we have whether it be just with conversation/to tell stories or to help with any yard work, gardening, or cleaning that might need done.
