Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To continue doing and getting better at the things I love and sharing them with others.
ABOUT ME
I enjoy new experiences and exploring. I wish to gain a more nuanced worldview by hearing what others have to say and seeing through multiple lenses. I love to be active. I enjoy hiking, skiing(snow), writing, reading, quiet time for reflection, and teaching.
PHILOSOPHY
What a balancing act!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I first got into couchsurfing in Argentina. A friend of mine brought me to several couchsurfing events and got me involved in developing my profile. Since I have moved back to the states I do not use couchsurfing as frequently but would like to continue using it as a convenient way to meet new people and see other parts of the country.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
As stated above, I have participated in several events, both in Argentina. One event was an Encuentro in Rosario. A weekend-long event getting to know the city of Rosario.
The second event was a monthly meeting with Couchsurfing La Plata. Again, another weekend event in which we also attended La Feria del Bosque.
Interests
I enjoy waking up early in the morning and writing for an hour or so before work. I try to maintain a balanced lifestyle of work, exercise, leisure and social commitments. I taught English in Argentina for several years and still do some English teaching, as well as a bit of Spanish teaching. I enjoy the process of learning and helping others to learn.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I hiked seven and a half miles up a mountain (3.7 miles up, 3.7 miles back) in 3 ft of snow and during a snow storm with no food save a granola bar and an apple. I didn't think I would make it down from the summit. I learned several lessons from this experience.
1. Mountains are very different in the winter than in the summer.
2. Apples are the most amazing food when you are running on empty (I think the apple is the reason I survived.)
3. Despite almost not making it, the mountain was still very beautiful with all the snow.
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy people that enjoy trying new things and engaging in dialogue with people from a variety of viewpoints and backgrounds. This allows me to broaden my own understanding of different perspectives and help to incorporate them into my own.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my love of cooking! I can bring artisanal Vermont products (maple syrup, Cabot cheddar). I am also happy to give Spanish or English lessons if interested. I enjoy the natural process of sharing and learning that helps bring people closer together and form lasting friendships.
