CURRENT MISSION...
Quick addition...I've been getting requests to stay with me for a week and longer. Due to my random schedule and somewhat spontaneous lifestyle I do not host more than 1-2 nights.
Addition to this addition== more requests to stay by people in large groups, traveling with extended family(I like kids but not in this setting), and asking to stay for 4 days, etc. It seems people aren't really reading.
ADDENDUM AFTER MY RECENT SURFER EXPERIENCE....I mainly host as I enjoy meeting new people and having good times with the people that stay with me(when I travel I generally find my own accommodations out of my own comfort).
I think it's widely agreed that couchsurfing is a shared experience for traveler and host and there is a certain amount of reciprocation on part of the guest..be it engaging with the host and being involved with activities, cooking a meal or going out to eat, drinks, etc.
The vast majority of people I've met have been super cool and I even consider many friends now, but, I have noticed some people are simply not concerned with the experience and basically want a free place to stay.
To be succinct, if you are not an experienced traveler, a gracious guest and are only looking for a free hotel then do not contact me for a room(this includes coming to town for court dates, looking for a place to live, going to school, extended stays with no expenses, etc.). Otherwise get in touch!

ABOUT ME

I spend my days making glass art for clients, but I work to live so I take off to go ride my mtn. bike, ride waves, go to concerts...I can cook a darn good breakfast and build a good fire!
I'm pretty courteous...not very loud, quite clean. Like meeting fun, genuine people...open for new adventures!
This sounds kind of shallow but I'm not the best at typing..new thoughts pop in all the time. Simplicity is the key!

PHILOSOPHY

So much to do and experience...I get antsy sitting around too long.
I believe we are all here together and should be respectful of each others space and thoughts...I am opinionated but know when to keep to myself.
Take care of your environment, take care of yourself, respect others(as long as it is returned).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started hosting last year since my house was more suited...I enjoy taking in travelers and making new friends.
I travel often but I don't utilize CS very often for places to stay...i usually just try and find people to hang out with.

I am traveling some to teach my art, so I am inherently creative and have a depth of knowledge in the field of glass, drawing, etc. Have worked with kids in the past and love showing them drawing techniques.
Pretty decent cook...I owned a pizza restaurant.
I used to fix surfboards for a surf shop.
Can do basic to intermediate bike repairs.
I'm always happy to share what I know, and help people out
