I work for a tech company and am currently traveling the world, taking photos, making friends and surfing a lot. I am from Cape Town in South Africa but I spend a lot of time in California. I'm really easy going, neat and quiet. I get along with guys and girls equally well and I'm always willing to have a few drinks and a chat.

I find hostels/backpackers can be great for socializing but are generally gross and dirty. Hotels and Airbnb homes are grossly overpriced (especially in California) and it doesn't make much sense to stay in them for longer periods.

I am looking to meet and form lasting friendships with locals in the places I travel to and I think Couchsurfing would be a better way to do that, at the same time saving some money.
