ABOUT ME

My name is Kylene and I'm a 27-year old Peace Corps Volunteer originally from Seattle, Washington. I taught high school English for four years, but felt like something was missing. I decided to apply for the Peace Corps to help people and travel the world.

Obviously I love to travel, explore new areas, try new things. I'm also a homebody and love a good movie or a good book. I love food and am willing to try just about anything. I love meeting new people and starting new friendships.

As a PCV, I am working in two schools teaching English. I also do some community development projects as well. I love my job and I love Thailand and I'd love to help some surfers find out just how awesome the country is!

PHILOSOPHY

Feel the fear, move through it, do it anyway. Too often people allow their fears to get the best of them and it stops them from experiencing the amazing things this world has to offer. I am trying to recognize the fears and move through them so I can experiencing everything.

I'm new to this. I'm jumping in with two feet, trying to give some surfers the opportunity to see a new community. Hopefully when I start to travel I'll be able to count on some hosts to help me do the same thing.

Books: The Thief of Always, Crime and Punishment, Zeitoun, the Hobbit, and pretty much every other book I've ever read.

Music: Rock, Classic Rock, Punk (love!), Oldies, some country, Electronic. I'm a mixed bag.

Movies: Dead Poet's Society, Boondock Saints, The Littme Mermaid :)
