Overview
About Me
I was born in Edmonton, Alberta and moved to Lethbridge in 2007. I am currently in university full-time pursuing a masters of education in counselling psychology.
As a proud Canadian, I often escape winter to my second home of Surprise, Arizona. The valley is beautiful and surfers are always welcome to join me there. If you haven't been to the Grand Canyon, you are missing out! The high country also has some great mountains for skiing, but if snow sports are your thing, come to Lethbridge instead. The Rockies are just outside my window and Fernie is a shorter drive.
I am travelling in Europe this summer and hoping to do some surfing along the way, so if you are in Austria, Germany, Greece, Italy, Switzerland or Turkey give me a shout! And if you are going to Southside Festival this year, I will see you there!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
A good friend of mine introduced me to the CS community and I immediately thought, "wow, what a great idea!" The mutual hospitality aspect really appeals to me, as well as the ability to meet travellers from all over the world without leaving home. And when visiting foreign lands, having that network of allies completely revolutionizes the experience. It's much easier to climb mountains with someone there to guide you.
I also like sticking it to the hotels, which are dreadful at the best of times. I would much rather treat some new friends to a night out than sit in some $500 room at the Four Seasons. All I need is a surface to sleep on and a safe place to store my things.
Interests
I am an avid concertgoer and sports fan, cigar aficionado and certified wine snob. I grew up on my family's farm and have spent my entire working life in agriculture and the fermented beverage industry. My dream is to own a vineyard some day.
