Overview
About Me
I'm a fun, easy-going and trustworthy female from Scotland. I've been travelling for the past 24+ months with no desire to stop seeing the World any time soon. I grew up on the small beautiful island of Shetland, where I was part of many sports teams, enjoyed the musical culture and night life as well as exploring the rustic landscape of Shetland. I moved to the mainland of Scotland to study for four years, gaining my honors degree in Sports Science and Marketing. After earning some cash I set off on my travels with just my backpack and a smile on my face. Through Scandinavia, Germany, Dubai, South East Asia, Australia, Fiji and New Zealand. NZ was were I worked, lived and called home for 18 months. I am now travelling Myanmar, Borneo, Philippines, Taiwan before heading to Xiamen to teach children English.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm interested in meeting people and think that the concept of coachsurfing is fantastic. I hope to make new friends from all over the world through this.
If anyone happens to travel to the remote island of Shetland, I'd be more than happy to host (or my family or friends will if I'm still on the move)
Interests
I'm sporty and enjoy exploring a new place or city by foot or on bike. Since coming to New Zealand I have become slightly obsessed with tramping, I love long hikes with friends or on my own just listening to music to relax.
Eating out with a good bunch of people or cooking a lovely meal with friends and family is a huge favourite. I'm a definite foodie!
Travelling and learning about new cultures is of course an interest too.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a movie fanatic. Some of my favorites include Pulp Fiction, Crazy Stupid Love, Blow, Dirty Dancing, The Reader, Love Actually, Dumb & Dumber, Pearl Harbour, Forrest Gump, Stepbrothers, any Disney Classic, Hangover, P.S. I Love You...those are to name only a few, the list could go on and on!
Favorite Music includes anything really! I could listen to any genre. I love old, new, slow and chilled or upbeat and energetic. Whatever mood I'm in there is a music type or artist that i'll enjoy.
I'll admit I don't read often enough, but I should do because I love a book once I get into it. Favorite books includes The Kite Runner, Hunger Games, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, Noughts and Crosses, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, Princess, Roald Dahl & Gone Girl.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The Great Walk Kepler Track in New Zealand, a recent achievement and one that I can say I'll never forget. The first multi-day hike I've completed carrying my back pack and camping gear through valleys, up mountains and along summits. A truly awe-inspiring landscape that challenged me physically and mentally as I tramped about 70+ kilometers in 3 days (completing the track and some additional tracks)
