About Me

I was an English teacher in Bangkok for 13 years and now I’m back in the Philippines.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I heard about travelers sleeping on couches and they had good and bad experiences. So, as a little adventurous myself I want to experience that also. I think it's cool to meet locals/different people and become friends with them. Friends were strangers before we met them. The authentic experience of traveling rather than being a tourist staying in a hotel is more interesting to me. And one of the perks of it, free accomodation for a poor traveler like me. :)

Interests

Traveling, saving Mother Earth and helping people. I like doing and learning different things. For my love of music I can play the guitar, I learned to play the violin and now I'm loving my ukulele. I tried Thai boxing and got injured on my ankle that made me stop. Now I attend social dances like Salsa/Kizomba/Bachata. I'm loving dancing now though I'm not good at it yet. I hope i will someday. I've discovered Capoeira from a friend and started attending lessons, then I stopped cuz it costs money. Then I did some Aikido, Yoga and Jiujitsu. I really have a thing for combat sports, dancing and music. Love beaches, waterfalls, hanging out with cool friends, watching live bands and I want to try all the good stuff in life. I want to learn to fly an airplane too. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I appreciate any kind of good music, but listens frequently to House, RnB, Reggae, Alternative Rock, Latin, Classic rock
Movies: Forrest Gump, 300, The Gladiator, Stuck in Love
Books: Conversations with God, The Alchemist, Love in the Time of Cholera, Into the Wild, Love, Sex or Infatuation

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done was volunteering for All Hands Volunteers in Tacloban City, Philippines. Super typhoon Haiyan devastated the city and AHV came to rebuild and help the community. It was a life changing experience that I will never forget.
