About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Take the back road! "Some of the best living, the most valuable living, happens on the side roads."

ABOUT ME

Life is a joy and a challenge - make the most of both!

I place more value on getting out and earning the bumps and bruises that come from experiencing life, but hey, I'm not adverse to a trip to the spa.

I thought I had myself pretty well figured out, but then I woke up.

PHILOSOPHY

Your character is your destiny.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed and hosted. Both are awesome!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I CS'd for the first time on a recent road trip and am impressed by the CS-hosting spirit! Now, I'm hoping to return the favor, welcome someone for a visit and share a little about why Denver is such a great town!

Interests

Seeing new sights, learning peoples' stories (everyone has an interesting one!!), spending time outdoors, campfires, puppy dogs, scrumptious cheeses, farm-fresh foods, hiking, riding my cruiser bike all over Denver, green smoothies, soft linens, relationships with life-long friends, lattes made with vanilla bean paste, and . . . flying upside down.

Yup, that's it in a nutshell.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read The New Yorker (did you see Patricia Marx's article on CS?? That's why I'm here...) but also enjoyed Unbroken (Laura Hillenbrand); The Night Circus (Erin Morgenstern); The Art of Fielding (Chad Harbach); The Art of Racing in the Rain (Garth Stein); and yes... I've read the Hunger Games trilogy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent a few months last year living in Glacier National Park in Montana and got to participate in a sea otter research trip in SE Alaksa. By trade, I'm a "suited up" consultant, so these experiences were an extra-special change from work life.

None of that compares to holding my brother's hand as he took his last breath. Love you, David!

Teach, Learn, Share

There's many compelling stories about why you should appreciate what you've been given versus what you've missed out on. I have one of them and am happy to share it.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Belize, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Morocco, New Zealand, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom
