About Me

Currently doing a distance degree in law; previously studied politics / sociology.
I love living in different places, sharing inspiring conversations and generally learning / getting to know new stuff!! Trying to be as curious as possible.

*** last-minute requests welcome - it's actually easier for me if you contact me closer to your planned travel days (please please don't send requests more than two weeks in advance, I never know my schedule that much beforehand & wouldn't be able to say anything beyond asking you to contact me again later) ***

Music, Movies, and Books

Listening: Mostly classical music, atm in particular piano solo + a hopeless opera fan. I play the double bass and the piano, so I often listen to the music we are / were working on with ensembles I participate in. Also enjoy (choir) singing and started to learn a bit of guitar, though my level remains abysmal. Composers I particularly like are: Bizet, Dvořák, Janáček, Rachmaninoff, Say.
Musicians: Renaud Garcia-Fons, Cyrille Dubois, Sabine Devieilhe, Yuja Wang, Sayka Shoji.

Reading: currently mostly reading articles / books related to uni or at least relevant-ish to my studies. Apart from that, I really enjoy reading biographies about historical figures.

Watching: I'm afraid I'm not much of a movie expert... I enjoy watching TV series for language study; among my favourite ones are "El ministerio del tiempo", "Lupin", "Sab3 Gar", "Bedoon dhekr asma2", "7arga" and "Safi salina".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went on a (short) bivvying & hiking / hitchhiking trip of Normandy and part of the North this summer, that was an awesome experience! Can't wait to give it another go, maybe more to the South this time before it gets too cold to sleep outside?

Teach, Learn, Share

Always up for enlightening / insightful discussions!! Topics I'm particularly interested in - though not necessarily all super knowledgeable about (yet), mind you - are: politics, international relations, (political) philosophy, critical theory, (international) law, history, sociology, migration, religion(s), economics (let's face it especially on this last one absolutely 0 knowledge on my part, but would love to learn)

My kitchen skills are quite basic (not to say bad) so I've recently been trying to improve them; I'd love to learn your favourite recipe! I do have some experience with baking though and could teach you some traditional German Plätzchen (= Christmas cookies) recipes if you like.

I'm also trying (and constantly failing because of travelling) to be environmental-friendly and vegetarian, so maybe we can share tips, recipes, etc. in this regard.
