About Me
Long story short, I grew up in Germany and now live in Australia where I am working towards a PhD in sustainability. It probably goes without saying that I love travelling and meeting new people - looking forward to having a chat in person :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Since I've started CS I haven't had a chance to host people myself due to my living situation but I love meeting new people and am of course eternally gratefuly to those offering travellers a home away from home :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
It all started by chance in 2011 when one weekend, because of an unexpected turn of events, I suddenly found myself without a companion and a place to stay in Lille, France. I had heard of CS before thanks to friends that participated in it and thought I'd give it a shot. After setting up the most basic profile in the 30min that I had in an Internet Cafe (different times^^) I didnt even expect to find something at such short notice and wasn't too excited about the three days ahead. Luckily I got proven wrong. Florine, my first host and one of the warmest and kindest people I've met, contacted me just about 2h later and to her I owe my excitement for CS (and an absolutely fabulous weekend!). I was just so incredibly positively surprised by how open she was and how much trust she put into this complete stranger (me^^) and I realized that it is through this that I'll meet excatly the kind of people that I like to get to know and spend time with :D
