Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To seek out and explore strange new lifeforms
ABOUT ME
I'm taking a break from professional academia, as a research scientist in Neuroscience and Artificial Intelligence (whatever that is) to explore the world a bit. To help pay for this great endeavor I build and run an educational web-site (showmedo.com) dedicated to improving the teaching of free and open-source software (FOSS). FOSS is philosophically not a million miles away from couchsurfing I think.
PHILOSOPHY
carpe diem right now
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am completely new to couchsurfing and have no contributions to boast of yet. I hope to change that soon.
Interests
cross-country running, mountain-biking, cycle-touring, camping, jazz-piano, science, film, computer-modeling, animal-behaviour, insect-navigation, minimal-cognition, tech-gear-junky, history of science, politics. And a whole slew of other things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I cycled 1000 odd miles from Brighton to Barcelona to visit some friends. Crossing the Pyrenees into Spain with bike+panniers was the hardest and one of the most amazing things I've done.
Teach, Learn, Share
Well I run an educational web-site (Showmedo.com), specializing in free and open-source software. So I'm a professional advocate of that movement.
