About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to keep learning

ABOUT ME

I hail from the cold Canadian prairies, though I'm currently studying long distance through the California College of Ayurveda. Right now I'm in the middle of an eight week Oregon/California/Washington exploration. I love to go out and have a good time just as much as staying in. I'm almost always up for trying new things and meeting new people. I love music, laughter, exploring (and i mean this as in literally getting lost, it's the best way to discover;) good books, movies, the wilderness, traveling and food! I just love to love.

PHILOSOPHY

Find what you love, love what you find.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surf couches and floors. One day soon I'll be a host and reciprocate the generosity I've been shown.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is my first trip surfing and so far I've met some of the most amazing people and happened upon some amazing surprise and Halloween parties. It makes the world feel so much smaller when you realize you have mutual friends with some of them too!

Interests

Being outside, learning homesteading skills, learning bass&guitar, learning to cook (emphasis on learn), live music, old films, reading fiction/literature & studying as many herbology books as I can find.

Music, Movies, and Books

Gillian Welch, Bowerbirds, Neil Young, Father John Misty, Grimes, Bahamas, Stevie Nicks, The Sheepdogs, Black Keys, Coeur de Pirate, and sometimes real classics like Bing Crosby or Louis Armstrong. But put some music on and I'm sure to start dancing!

John Grisham, Haruki Murakami, Stieg Larsson, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Hemingway- haven't read to much else this year.. eek!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The first few moments that struck to the front of my mind while pondering this are all things I've experienced in the wilderness. Whether it be canoeing on a still lake with misty rain falling around me and seeing so far into the distance there was nothing but a flat horizon. Or ending an eight hour day of hiking on the Canadian Shield- a day that totalled over 18 kilometres- and realizing I survived and feeling so proud, but also completely immobile.
Other moments that have caught my breath have almost all been in live shows. In those moments when my favourite song is being played by a favourite artist or discovering new artists and surfing the thrill of the crowd. Really. Incredible. Feelings.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach me a joke, share me some wisdom or even a life skill. I'll try and shoot one back.
