About Me

I work as a journalist and editor and also I'm seriously involved in the amateur theatre. I'm an introvert but can be really talkative and talk all night long.

Me in social networks:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's started with my friend who hosted many surfers and called me to meet them. These meetings made me feel as if I would be in a travel! They reminded me, how big and different the world is.
Also I'm here because in each travel I want more. Touristic places are not enough. When I go just there, I feel lonely, useless and separate from real life. I want the very soul of countries and towns - its people. It's always been my dream - to find friends in places I visit and to have a good time with them. Now I finally know how to do this! That's why I want to be your guest.
From my part I'll be happy to do my best to show you my city inside according to your interests and to give you everything you'd have here if it would be your home city.

Interests

Well...
I do postcrossing for 7 years already.
I love cooking (but I need inspiration to cook a masterpiece).
Adore nature and animals, especially dogs. Adore the countryside (of any country). If you take me there in your country, you'll make me happy!
I'm interested in society and learning to be responsible for it, and I'm proud that my city is maybe the most politically independent in Russia.
Actually, I'm a local patriot. Ural music, Ural poetry... It's harsh and so close! I know it quite well and will be pleased to share it with you.
I deeply enjoy art and architecture.
When I had more time, I enjoyed making nice hand made cards using herbarium.
I'm lucky to know much of several branches of my familial history. I really appreciate it. And I want to hear yours if you have it!
I love people's stories, they are the soul of this world and they are just interesting.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: indie, rock, synthpop (!), disco, dance pop. I love dancing and appreciate a good rhythm! And a good song as well.
Now I'm discovering Russian and my local Ural music (and there're treasures I'll show you with great pleasure!), but let me remember my favourites that you know well: Electric Light Orchestra, Pink Floyd, Adriano Celentano, David Bowie, Jay-Jay Johanson.

Books: I love all the great classical Russian literature, it is what I'm made from. I love also English and American writers (but I read them in Russian translation). And my absolutely favourite contemporary book is "Everything is illuminated" by J.S. Foer.

Movies: Georgiy Daneliya, "Pokrovskie vorota" (the Pokrovsky gate), Julio Medem, Coen brothers, "Mad Men", Zabriskie Point... There're much more but here're the first I remembered.

Teach, Learn, Share

You'll make me happy if you learn Russian language and ask me to teach you.
I've been to some places and situations and have a good memory. So I could share my experience and thoughts.
And for sure I'll be pleased to tell you about Russian culture.
If you draw or dance, I'd love to take a lesson.
I'll be thankful if you're patient enough to talk to me German or French. But if we talk on serious subjects, I'm afraid we'll have to use English (and that's why I don't have progress in these 2 languages!))

What I Can Share with Hosts

Maybe it's banal, but I can cook something from Russian cuisine. Actually we could cook by turn and I could also buy some food and wash the dishes.
I can walk with your dog or your child.
And, if I stay for several days, we can help each other in doing something regularly by doing it together, for example learning languages or doing sports.
