About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To not become stale
ABOUT ME
I am an American living in England. I am currently studying at the University of Leeds and enjoy spending my down time getting to know England, and travelling the world. Every weekend that I am in England, I try to see a new part of the country, whether that is through a walk in the Dales, a visit to an old medieval castle, or a train ride to another city.
PHILOSOPHY
I would like to, every day, try my best to make the world a little better. Often times this is through nothing more than recycling or using public transportation, although I do hope to expand my usefulness as the years go on.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
It's wonderful being able to talk to local people - learning about their country and culture is incredibly edifying. I hope to also share my knowledge with people who want to come and stay in England for a little bit!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am pretty new to the CS community, but am extremely excited and want to jump right in. I have surfed in a couple of cities now - Bulgaria (which was an amazing experience) and Belfast (also great)!
Interests
I was an art history major, and did my thesis on the didactic value of stained glass windows. I am still drawn in by the beauty of old architecture and paintings (although I no longer remember a lot of what I learned).
I love learning about the history of a place, debating politics, understanding the unique traditions, eating local food (although I am a vegetarian, so I am carefully adventurous with what I eat). :-)

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Half of a Yellow Sun. A Thousand Splendid Suns. I'd love to read more, but find that when I am finally sitting at home, it's probably time for bed!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 20120, I hiked on the Great Wall in China, went on a safari in Kenya (witnessed the great migration) and spent Christmas in Portugal. Then last year I got to go to Romania, spent two weeks in India and saw the Christmas markets and the beautiful coastline in Slovenia. Every month I hope to see something different, learn something exciting, meet someone new.
