ABOUT ME

Hey!
I am a student in political sciences who recently graduated and decided to travel across Latin America for a little while.
As everyone on this website I love travelling (simply, with a backpack, a sketch book and a good novel), and I am of course very interested in meeting people, spending time with those who want to, and having a true insight into their daily life in the city. But I am also very interested in experiencing new (mostly alternative and simple) ways of living, discussing about politics and ecology, about cinema and music, and philosophing for hours about the purpose of life. I think I can describe myself as a rather calm person (although I also really enjoy to joke around and to party), a person who likes to listen to people and to share simple moments with them.

PHILOSOPHY

I see life as some kind of colourful play dough; as much as our past experiences have shaped us, I think our existence really lies in our hands and we can do (almost) whatever we want with it as long as we let ourselves be inspired by others - this is probably as true as it sounds cheesy

Interests

I am a vegetarian, interested in independant and classic cinema, music, painting, literature, philosophy, sociology, psychology, photography, architecture, design, and of course travelling. I also like to cook and to discouver the culinary specialities of the places I visit.

Music, Movies, and Books

In terms of movies, I really enjoy directors such as Rohmer, Bergman, early films by Woody Allen, the Dardenne Brothers, Maurice Piala, Wim Wenders, Fellini, Jim Jarmush, Clint Eastwood, Truffaut, Agnès Varda, Abdellatif Kechiche, Fatih Akin...
In terms of music I like Balkan beats, classical music, electro, swing, blues, jazz (some of it), folk and indie rock. Finally, I am a enthousiast reader, mostly reading philosophy, socialogy, novels and essays. Among my recent readings, books that particularly inspired me were Walden by Thoreau, Collapse by Jared Diamond, L'existentialisme est un humanisme by Sartre, The second sexe by Simone de Beauvoir, and Le premier Homme by Camus.

I would be happy to show you how to cook French cuisine and to speak French, English or German if you are eager to practice. I would also be glad to make you discouver French cinema and music
