About Me

ABOUT ME

En français un peu plus bas!

Hey! My name is Marc and I currently live in Montreal, with three really great roommates in a gigantic awesome apartment, just outside of downtown. I am a classical musician (I play the cello) and I've been out of school for a short while now, freelancing, teaching and taking time to live (which I didn't do enough while in school ha!).

As I said, our apartment is huge, we have a couch that can be turned into a bed and a basement with another bed (plus our own beds, we happen to travel quite a bit, too). The house is the four of us, a good number of plants (I'm trying to keep mine alive... it's a new challenge for me), a few dinosaurs and their friends (they move around the house - mostly the cupboards - when we're not looking). We have a gigantic backyard, in which we grow vegetables and stuff in the summer. Other things that can be found in the house are music (lots of it), books, board games, our friends (we try to have them visit often) and bikes (two of my roommates are quite a bit into bikes). All of us are fairly busy making a living, but we're also all at home a fair bit, too. We like to meet new people and share experiences, travels, beers, coffee, etc., so hit us up! We live right out of downtown, on the edge of Verdun. It's a five-minute walk to the metro, which will take you downtown in about 10 minutes, or to the Plateau/Mile-End in about 20-30 minutes. We're a 5-minute walk to the Lachine canal, which is a really cool spot to go relax, with really nice views of the city. Just across the canal is the Atwater Market, so really, the location is just great. Tons of bike paths around, if you're by bike, and a night bus that brings you pretty much right in front of our door. We're also only two stations away from Lionel-Groulx station, which is the ariport shuttle's first stop, so it's super easy to get here that way, if you're flying. All four of us are bilingual (English/French) and Daniel also speaks Spanish fluently (I can try, too, but you'll have to get me drunk first)

About me... Well I'm a classical cellist (well mostly classical) fresh out of school, keeping busy in all sorts of ways. I also work in the best ice cream shop ever in the summer, because I just love it, it keeps me busy and allows me to meet tons of cool people. I tend to have too many projects going on at once, but I've been better regarding that lately. I like many things, which doesn't help. I am big on music (duh), board games, reading, knitting, beer, coffee, diving, swimming, biking, skiing, traveling, languages etc. Ever since I can remember, I've always wanted to travel around the world, looking at maps, learning country names and capitals as a kid. I've been lucky enough to travel a bit with music, but it's definitely not over. I really wanna keep visiting new places and meeting new people. I always have trip ideas floating around in my head. I love road trips and camping, too. Also I've lived in Toronto, Calgary and London (England) and spent a few months in Germany (mostly Schleswig-Holstein region and Berlin).

Cheers!
Marc
