About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Attempting to live the good life in between shifts at the hospital.

ABOUT ME

I'm a world traveler and francophone who has returned to the states where I am now a Resident in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.

Now for the cool things about me:
I'm a hopeless romantic, yet a very determined and often overly pensive person. I do, however, know how to have a good time...and my friends can attest to my awkward dance skills.

I play folk guitar ( a little bit, I am definitely not claiming to be Paul Simon). I enjoying cooking and introducing the world to what Louisiana cuisine has to offer. My all time favourite recipes are: pecan pie, gumbo, etoufee, and bananas foster. I also love King Cake, but that is a seasonal item. I'm all for tasting and learning other cuisines.

I find that you can learn everything you need to know about a culture by its cuisine and its language. This is one reason why I've taken on an interest in languages as well. Unfortunately, I've only had time to learn French, but when I have time I attend a polyglot club to try and pick up some Spanish. My German is practically non-existent, but I do try.

I also love travelling. It's been awhile but I used to consider myself a globe trotter. Though my current job has interfered with my ability to meet people in their home countries, I love to meet people from around the globe/state/USA. It keeps my life interesting :).

As much as I love seeing the world around me, I love meeting the people who live there. Being an international student has made me appreciate the intricate differences between cultures and why this diversity is so important. What makes us similar is what may attract us, but it is our differences that make us truly value ourselves and others.

I wish the world were more open-minded, and I'm always up for a friendly debate.

If you have any other questions about me, feel free to ask. I update this section regularly to reflect my current hobbies and state of studies :)

PHILOSOPHY

I live each day like its my last and am always up for learning something new.

I love the world :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm more than welcome to lend a couch or a tour of the world in which I live in. I want to make it possible for everyone to travel and really get to know the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had a great time couchsurfing through Central and Eastern Europe. I think it's great to have a contact in cities around the world, even if it's just for an after work drink.

I really like hosting people who have done a lot of travelling and I love getting pointers for my next trips. However, even if you haven't traveled much, I love hearing about what brought you to my couch.

Interests

Foreign Cultures, Cooking, Playing Acoustic Guitar, Listening to LPs (you know "records"), doodling on the sides of my notes during lectures, painting (wall and canvas), Travelling (foreign and domestic), grilled cheese sandwiches, omelettes, patio gardening
