Overview
About Me
I'm a 34-year-old psychology researcher working in the tech sector (for a non-evil company). My husband is a sign language interpreter. I'm passionate about:
-projects that use science and technology to disseminate skills for improving mental health, relationships, communication, etc.
-making sure that science gets done "right" so that we can actually trust the results
-effective altruism
-pointless altruism
-Buddhist philosophy
-learning (e.g., languages)
-saving money (or spending money on really cheap things so that I'm thrilled by the deal)
-trying new things so that I don't miss out on life because OMG we're gonna die
-learning to relate to people in an authentic and vulnerable way
-making the world safe for weird people
-making the world weird for safe people
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I travel, I want to actually interact with locals. Humans are the most interesting part of any place--moreso than museums or scenery, although I like those too--but I'm generally too shy to just start a conversation with a stranger.

Teach, Learn, Share
I wrote a course on how to be a better listener and more supportive to your friends, but you're probably already pretty good at that.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Conversation, chores, fun facts.
