Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION I wake up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes it makes planning my day difficult. ABOUT ME
I find myself first and foremost telling people that I am a Peace Corps volunteer in Togo, West Africa. I’ve been living there since last May mostly teaching English and Gender Studies but I also spent a lot of time working on econ development projects (specifically geared toward women), but also dabbled in community health/nutrition and sustainable agriculture projects. I am taking a bit of a sabbatical atm and am living in Colombia, S. America trying to work on my Spanish and lean into the culture here a little bit before I return back to village life. I love to learn, more than anything. Life experience is what I am after, so I really enjoy being around people. I am active, love to be outdoors and in the sun! I can manage on a board pretty well and love sports; played a fair amount of it growing up. I like to spending winters on the mountain to snowboard and summers in the water. In my spare time I go dance around like a fool and drink pickle juice. My family is pretty musical and have been around instruments and music all my life, so I like to think I have some taste in tunes. I love children and plan to do humanitarian work for the rest of my life. I know how to have a good time and no one has ever called me boring but I definitely enjoy the silence and calmness when needed. The last couple years I have grown to love cooking which obviously means I love eating. I planted my first garden a few years ago and watched it flourish which has really sprouted a new hobby. I am active member of my college's debate team and like to think I'm open to others viewpoints. Life is too short not to be happy, you do you boo boo! PHILOSOPHY There is nothing worse in life than being ordinary.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I surfed mainly around Australia, New Zealand, and around Europe and it was the tits. . Words cannot explain. I hold a really warm place in my heart for the friends I have met through this. I have stayed with heaps of people that I can't wait to see again some day, definitely more than my references reflect.
It's now my turn to give back!! I just started hosting at my place in Seattle. Don't be a psycho creep and there is about a 99.9% chance we get along.

Go Ask Alice will probably always be my favorite book.
I keep all my text books .
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Smoked out with a blind & deaf guy outside a bar in my hometown and signed with him. It was his first time communicating through ASL in10 years. Traveled a fair amount for my age alone but that's nothing new here. I did however forage the winter backpacking through 15 different countries alone without a phone or laptop which was tricky/cool/frustrating/liberating and managed to make most of my trains. Peace Corps is really amazing, I’m living in a RURAL ass West Africa village volunteering speaking French and local language, it’s a 2 1/2 year commitment.
Teach, Learn, Share
Finished my BA at UW in International relations Global Studies and got a second degree in Law, Economics, and Public Policy. I probably could throw someone on a snowboard and recently have really wanted to show someone around my neck of the woods. Teach, learn, and share all that you can. Some people collect magnets or key chains... I collect peoples itunes (: I'd also like to cook someone a good meal and share a story or two.
