About Me

I'm a fun, get up and go sort of person. I Love getting out and doing things.

I'm very creative in both songwriting and story telling. I have made and released an album in commemoration of the ANZAC conflict at Gallipoli in WW1. That was one of the biggest musical tasks I had undertaken and it was incredibly rewarding. If you want to have a listen check it out on spotify/iTunes/Google etc (Lachie Rising Sons)

I am currently learning German and French in preparation for my upcoming travels so anyone traveling through the Surf Coast you're more than welcome/Willkommen/Bienvenue to help me practice!

Since the album release last year I have been writing some singles to release online, something completely different to what I have recently done. If any Hosts while I am traveling have a guitar or piano I will happily share my works in progress :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was recommended this by a couple of friends in Perth and Canberra who have used this often, saying it's a great way to make awesome friends.

It has been fantastic hosting people from all over the world, sharing experiences with them and making life long friends.

In my travels I wish to make more friends this way!

Interests

surfing, live music, nature, rock climbing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all things creative, my music tastes vary from classical to pop to metal to music theatre. If I were to give my top five musicians though.... they would be:
David Bowie
U2
Bryan Adams
Something For Kate
Queen

I read a lot of sci fi and action novels. The creativity behind things that don't exist really intrigues me and the ability to describe it can be wonderful to read.

As for movies it's very rare that I stop a movie half way through. I tend to like thrillers and dramas and smaller studio stuff more than big hollywood blockbusters (not saying that i don't like hollywood but much of the time their writing, like most modern pop music tents to be "safe formula" and is predictable and boring.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can't limit it to one so some highlights I guess.

Was Couchsurfing in Chamonix and invited to a bar where I played an impromptu solo set.

Climbing above the clouds near Gap in France.

exploring Berlin with a film crew and crawling through an abandoned hospital filming a music video there.

I've seen such a lovely sight flying into Christchurch and snow capped mountains break the clouds just under the plane.

I played a concert with my band and a symphony orchestra, raising money for a charity. My songs sounded amazing with an orchestra!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to share my music with people
Teach them to surf or take them rock climbing
I'd love to learn of couchsurfers backgrounds, traditions and language :)
always share laughs

I have my music, cooking, terrible jokes, and Vegemite that I can share all with a smile :)
