Down to earth, open minded person.I have just finished a six month university exchange in Sweden studying Public Health so am travelling a little bit before I have to go back home to Australia.

Back in Australia I work as a registered nurse. I enjoy cycle touring (I managed to ride throughout Europe for 3 months in 2017), meditation, playing and listening to music and cooking (and eating) food

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am relatively new to the CS experience and am really excited to meet some people whom I can learn about THEIR culture and what their countries mean to them.
I love learning new things and I believe couchsurfing can connect me to people that can teach me cool new things whether it be cooking their country's food, a new sport, a new instrument. Anything!

I also can't wait to host people when I get back to Sydney to show people my city and return the favour for all my hosts

Interests

More than anything I love learning and teaching! Whether it be in a formal sense or on a smaller scale.
I'm currently working at large hospital in Sydney and am keen to take some time off to explore the world we live in to gain a better understanding of other countries and their cultures before returning to my job and applying what I've learnt along the way

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm into a wide range of music from rock to techno, to jazz, to folk to everything in between! More so the music I don't really like is just pop music for purely commercial gain
A few of my favourites are Arcade Fire, LCD Soundystem, The White Stripes, Boys Noize The Black Keys, Hot Chip, Van Morrison, Cut Copy, Justice

Some of my favourite movies are School of Rock, Goodwill Hunting, Shawshank Redemption, Saving Private Ryan, Catch Me If You Can, Kill Bill, Django Unchained (anything by Tarantino actually) and I'm sure there's a few more

I mostly love non-fiction adventure books. Some that come to mind are anything by Bill Bryson, Into The Wild, The Art of Travel, The Road Headed West, Band-Aid for a Broken Leg, Paramedico and a bunch of others
Some of my favourite fiction include Shutter Island, Lexicon, Frankenstein, Sherlock Holmes, Fight Club, Alice and Wonderland and I'm sure a bunch of others

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm currently a nurse so love teaching people in regards to healthcare, first aid and any weird questions are the body people have (everyone always has at least one)

I love learning pretty much anything! I believe every single person in this world has something that they can teach you no matter what background their from and I love being taught things all the time. Even if it's random information that I don't think I'll need to know...until the day I need it!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm definitely not a chef (I live with one and he definitely agrees I'm not one) but I love to get creative in the kitchen and at least have a go. So I'd love to help out with the cooking side of things

I'm getting more and more into cycling so I can help out as much as I can with any bike problems or advice (I've still got plenty to learn however)

I know my way around a few chords on the guitar and can have a good go at slappin' the bass, so lounge room jam times could definitely be a possibility if my host was up for it

Most importantly I'm always keen for a chat and am eager to learn about my hosts so a good chat over a cuppa, a beer or a wine getting to know each other is the best
