About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To have great hopes and to dare to go all out for them. To have great dreams and to dare to live them. To have tremendous expectations and to believe in them... - N. V. Peale

ABOUT ME

Atm doing the MPhil in Criminological Research in Cambridge which is about to finish in a few months :( then, who knows...
I'm an open-minded and optimistic girl /hopefully, I'm not mistaken ;)/, movie-freak, with great love for: travelling, French language, Spanish football and Indian food!

PHILOSOPHY

Live every day as if it were your last and make sure to tell and show your loved ones how much you care (Deanna Mascle)

Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world (Harriet Tubman)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Started couchsurfing in August 2009; did couchsurfing at a few places in India and have only good memories of those times!! If only I could host or be hosted by such people in the future, that would be absolutely awesome :)
Then at a few places in France which was an ok experience.

Interests

Apart from so obvious travelling, I love dancing, movies and I fancy voluntary work. I did some volunteering with a French org. APARE (refurbished a chapel in French Provence in 2008 and a rural school in one of Moroccan villages last year) and when studying in st andrews I befriended for almost 3 years a boy and a girl. Befriending basically means meeting up with a kid from a non-priviledged background and doing your best so as the kid could make the best of the time spent with you by either cooking, painting together or simply by a friendly talk. I love children to bits so for me that was a genuinely amazing experience!
Also, I quite like cooking when I have some free time! Though I'm far from being great, I'm trying as only trying makes a master ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

As I am quite a movie freak I'll just name a few which are definitely in my top list: Brokeback Mountain, Amelie, Gladiator, Beautiful Mind and The Return (the Russian one)

For the last few months I've been mainly stuck reading my university books but when I have some free time I like travellers' books, especially about the places which I had a chance to travel to. Also, like iberoamerican lit. like love at the time of cholera or the years with laura diaz

Do not really have one specific, favourite band or singer. Everything depends on my mood and occasion.
I enjoy listening to Sting, Michael Buble and some Polish stuff... whereas for dancing I prefer r'n'b or latino bits.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most amazing for me last year was
riding on a motorbike on busy streets of Agra in India
and
sleeping on the roof of my friends' house in a small Moroccan village and admiring the sky full of stars
