ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Hong Kong, I moved to London 6 years ago. I do photography, video, performances. I am interested in Braille, Languages, Literature, Film, Music. I am a big film fan so I will be very happy if we get into a film geek chat! I play piano and accordion (!). I love traveling esp. Nordic countries. and so I get to learn a bit Norwegian and Swedish!

I lived in East London next to Broadway Market. However, I can't host anyone at the moment sorry. Yet I enjoy meeting new people esp. artists, photographers, writers and filmmakers. I will be able to show you around London if I haven't got too much work.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've never couchsurfed through CS site but I have some friends that i know through facebook and i go and meet them up. One of the best time is when I was in Finland in Christmas 2 years ago, the family just treated me like their own daughter. I had a very heartfelt Christmas, it makes me think about human trust and world without boundaries. Now I have some connection in Scandinavia and I go to visit the Finnish family quite often as if I am part of the family!

It is very adventurous as you never know how the journey would be. Sometimes what I think about people travel to somewhere, the only thing they end up getting from the city is tons of maps and souvenirs. But in fact what you experience, the new people you meet on the way and the dialogue is the most important bit of the journey.

Interests

Braille, Blindness, Tactile language, languages' non-accessibility in communication and human perception. Translation. Minimalism practice, aesthetics and notion of touch, the tension between heterogeneous ways of bodily function to individual surfaces. World CInema, Post-Modernity, Sound and film making, Analog photography.
