I have been in Turkey for two years teaching English and now it is time to move on. I'm off for a new teaching gig in Mexico. I hope my accommodations there will allow hosting again.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Most of the time I don't need housing assistance but desire a tour companion in whatever area I am visiting. I travel alone, so it is so much more fun to have someone with me for a day or so of a trip to give me the inside story and help me get around.

I am very interested in the history of an area. I also enjoy experiencing other cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all types of movies except Horror films! I end up with nightmares! Probably my all time favorite is King of Hearts, which is very old and probably not seen by people younger than 50! Brother Sun, Sister Moon is also a favorite.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Others tell me my moving to Turkey at my age to teach English is pretty amazing. Judging by the fact that I am the oldest teacher I've met so far, maybe it is more daring than I think.

Now I'm off to try out Italy. For me what is amazing is that I'm going to Italy without a confirmed job. Oh well, I'm confident I will find one very soon after my arrival.
