ABOUT ME

HI! I'm Laurie. I work as a doula and childbirth educator and am also a midwife assistant in a birthing center in Quebec, Canada. I've already travelled to many places and am always curious to learn more about other cultures and ways to live. I also love sewing, knitting, singing, dancing and having a good time with friends.

I am open-minded and mature and love to try and discover new things!

PHILOSOPHY

You never know when you're going to die, so live your life as much as you can!! If there's something you're good at or you're interested in, even if its odd, don't hesitate and do it! There is nothing better than travelling to learn new things, to have new experiences, and to meet new people!

I also strive to make the world a better place to be born in, and hope that every child will be able to come into the world in a loving and respectful manner, and will be recognised for who they really are.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I discovered CS a few years ago when travelling to the UK and Ireland.

I travel and love to meet new people through CS and make new friends and share experiences.

I am also open to hosting occasionally , but know that I live far in the country, about a 2 hour bus ride from Montreal. I also work a lot these days so it's not guaranteed ill have time for you.

Music, Movies, and Books

Golden age musicals , I also love period films, like Pride and Prejudice, Young Victoria and Titanic. Anything historical, and documentaries. As for music, I love pretty much any kind, (except rap, R'nB, pop and death metal). And books? Anything that's entertaining, from Jane Austen to J.K. Rowling, Outlander series, and anything that can make me laugh, as well as informative books on subjects I'm interested in.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have the chance to witness babies being born and help the mothers in the process. Among all the travels and exciting things I have done, it is the most magical thing in my eyes.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, for starters, I am a really good seamstress, she could always share a few tricks, I also might go off about childbirth as I am very passionnate about my work, don't hesitate to ask me questions on the subject!

If you want to learn french too, I could teach you some words!

I am always open to learn new things, and exchange knowledge.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm always happy to share my passion for pregnancy and childbirth with anyone interested!
I'm also a knitter and seamstress so I'd be happy to share some skills.
