Descubrir todo lo que podamos sobre las personas y las culturas de Suramérica. La idea es viajar por Suramérica durante un año y visitar tantos lugares bonitos como podamos, incluida la Antártida (¡nuestro sueño!).

CURRENT MISSION

To discover as much as we can about the people and cultures of South America. Our plan is to travel South America for a year and to visit as many places as we can, including maybe Antartica (our dream!).

SOBRE NOSOTROS

Somos una pareja de Barcelona (España) y Dublín (Irlanda). Los ultimos 5 años hemos vivido, estudiado y trabajado en Dublín, pero nuestra verdadera pasión es viajar!

Sin embargo, los últimos años estuvimos tan ocupados con el trabajo que cada vez viajamos menos... Así que decidimos renunciar a nuestros trabajos y comenzar a planificar el viaje de nuestras vidas!

Si bien, queremos ir a los conocidos sitios de Suramérica como, el Pantanal en Brasil o Machu Pichu, etc., tambien queremos pasar tiempo en cada destino para conocer a la gente y su forma de vida.

Nos encanta explorar ciudades y también pasarnos todo el día en la naturaleza. Pero al final del día, no hay nada mejor para conocer a las personas que compartir una buena comida acompañado de unas cervezas (¡al estilo irlandés!).

ABOUT US

We are a couple from Barcelona (Spain) and Dublin (Ireland) in our late twenties. We've lived in Dublin for the last 5 years while getting our degrees, but our true passion has been travelling together, whenever we could find the opportunity (and money).

However, the last year or so we have been so busy with working that we travelled less and less. So we did the only logical thing we could think of; quit our jobs and start planning for a trip of a lifetime.

Whereas of course we want to experience the big highlights of South America, the Pantanal in Brazil or Machu Pichu etc, we want to spend time in each destination getting to know the people and the way of life.

We love exploring cities, and also spending all day hiking in nature. But at the end of it all there's nothing better than getting to know people over a meal and a drink (or a few drinks; the Irish way!).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment we are unable to host as we are travelling ourselves!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have shown Barcelona to few CouchSurfers and I have been hosted in Amsterdam and Milan. All my CouchSurfing expirences have been amazing!! And I can't wait to have more CouchSurfing expierences!

Interests

We love reading up about new places and then exploring them. Our plan is to do as much hiking as we can on our travels, and would more than welcome any company in this :)

On the more relaxing side of things our favourite thing to do is try the local food/wine/beer. We've found cycling tours of vineyards to be a great way of pretending you're exercising as an excuse to try plenty of wine XD

We also love to ski whenever we get the chance!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We travelled to Antartica by sailboat (with a total of 12 people on board) on a 21 day voyage!

It will be hard to beat this amazing experience but we are more than happy to try!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am able to teach Spanish, English or Catalan and I would like to learn Portuguese, French, Italian and German.

What I Can Share with Hosts

When we return to Barcelona next year we can offer to hang out and show Barcelona and also host up to two people, who would be sleeping in a double sofa/bed in the living room.
