About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Hit every continent before I turn 30/ see the world

ABOUT ME

I'm just a little speck in an infinite universe, but a sparkly one at that! I can be the life of the party or the most introverted wallflower depending on the day. I love meeting people and finding out what makes them tick. I find the most joy in traveling, spending time with friends and family, laughing until my belly hurts, practicing yoga, meditating, singing, reading, and writing.
I was a middle school science teacher in NYC for 5 years. I am a pretty good cook- if you like vegan food :)
I believe the greatest gift you can give someone is your full attention. I am so grateful for all of the amazing experiences I have had in this life.

PHILOSOPHY

Cherish every day. Be happy now. Make time for the things you love to do every day. Work to live. Collect moments, not things. Be light. Be love. Be free. Love really is all you need. The most precious resource in this life is time- it's depleting quickly and can be taken away at any second- make the most of it! Live with no regrets. Do not carry any burdens on your shoulders- let the past go- don't worry about the future. Gratitude is the best attitude. Be someone you'd want to be friends with. Strive each day to be better than you were yesterday.

Ordinary life does not interest me. I seek only the high moments. I am in accord with the surrealists, searching for the marvelous- Anais Nin

Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary. ~Cecil Beaton

Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind". -Dr. Seuss

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have gone skydiving three times- most amazing view was over the Hamptons in Long Island, NY.
I went white water rafting in the Bhote Kosi River in Nepal, flipped over twice, and got pummeled down the river when I tried to swim after my oar rather than holding on to the raft. I thought I was going to die- until the rescue kayaker brought me to the river's edge. I can't wait to go white water rafting again!
I visited Slovenia- where I still have relatives- and found it to be one of the most beautiful places I've seen. Lake Bled, Lake Bohinj, Mt. Vogel- pristine and gorgeous.
My boyfriend Paul and I have road-tripped most of the US. We went for a 6 month road trip from Cali to SXSW in Austin, TX, all over California, to Maine, down the East Coast and everywhere in between. We culminated that trip with Burning Man 2012. Then we went for a 3 month road trip in 2013, spending a month in Florida trying to hit as many different beaches as we could and stayed along the Gulf Coast through Corpus Christi, Texas. We mostly stayed in our vehicle, but started Couch Surfing towards the end. We had an amazing time, but will definitely incorporate more Couch Surfing on future trips.
Once I visit Alaska, Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington I will have seen all 50 states.
