Hello everyone ! It’s bot only gonna be about me but about us because we are a couple traveling together so we will introduce ourselves.

We are Laetitia and Boris. We are 27 and 29 years old. We are from Belgium and we live together in a city close to Brussels. Laetitia is an elementary school teacher and Boris used to cook for schools but quit to be able to travel.
We can seem shy at first but we would describe ourselves as calm people but we like to talk, exchange with people we met along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

During our trips, we had the opportunity to be invited by locals not using Couchsurfing. It was a game changer for us, we loved those experiences.
Now, as we are traveling around South America, we are looking for kind of the same experiences. We would like to meet and share the life of locals, traveling in a different way from hotels to hotels.

Interests

Laetitia :
I like to dance, I started dancing at 3 years old. I practiced several styles of dance, a lot of ballet, contemporary dance, jazz. During 2 years I was part of a dance troupe. We were dancing in front of crowds for charity, it was the best part of my dancing career. I had to stop two years ago because of my schedule with work and life as an adult.
I love to be around of children and that’s why I choose to be an elementary teacher. I like particularly to work with active learning.
I also like to read and creative activities like painting, drawing and diy.

Boris :
History is something that I always liked, I studied history at university but unfortunately I wasn’t able to work with it.
I mainly have two hobbies, football and competitive video games. I play football since I was 5 years old and I’m still playing it currently. 7 years ago I even created my own football club with a couple of friends, since then we climbed 5 divisions.
I also follow and watch a lot of competitive video games. I know it can be weird to watch people playing but I like the competitive parti of it. I used to play also but I don’t have the time anymore.

As a couple, we spend almost all our time together. We like to do basic life activities but together is always better.
We also like to travel, we traveled already around Europe together and now we are traveling in South America.

Music, Movies, and Books

We mainly like pop music in general. We also listen to a lot of French songs because we like to sing. Same for Disney songs. By the way we love to do blind test about that.

We of course watch movies and series together, but we are very bad at choosing new movies to watch, which is why we watch always the movies we already watch 20 times.
Our cute sin is to watch reality shows and comment everything that’s happening. It can be hard to watch something with us because of that haha.

Boris : I’m not a huge reader, it was mainly books we had to read for school. But I’m a huge fan of Harry Potter, I’ve read the books so many times.
Laetitia : ma favorite book, but mostly because it’s the one that made me into reading, is “l’alchimiste” from Paulo Coelho. Since then, I read a lot of roman. My favorite author is Delphine De Vigan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most incredible adventure we had together was when we went to Finland, we went above the arctic circle. It was -37 degrees. We also went to Santa’s village and at night we saw aurora borealis.

Teach, Learn, Share

We are learning Spanish with Duolingo for two years but now that we are in South America we realized we are not very good so we would love to talk in Spanish to practice. We can also help and talk in French of course.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We would like to spend time with our hosts, spend authentic moments and learn about the culture, life in here. We know we gonna visit touristic places but we would like to visit those places in a different way, with the eyes of locals. We would also like to share our experiences and our culture.
