About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn Chinese, be useful, woodwork, swim in more lakes, fix my knee, climb. boom.

ABOUT ME

There's something really important you should know... I once saw the tooth fairy monarchy- ask me about it if we meet. I'm serious.

I figured I should write a little bit about me, i've been a member for over four years and haven't really written any information as such, i think you just get the idea that i'm a bit silly... so here goes, I grew up in the countryside in wales, to one side a quarry, to the other a forest, and all around me the mountain ranges, I fitted in at school, but i also didn't fit in, and that's why i ended up living in Belgium when I was 18 for a couple of years, travelled around india, loved the place to pieces. Now I am in London, studying herbal medicine because i feel strongly that we need to look after each other and ourselves much better.

Friends would probably use the words sweet and fun, i dunno.. , I do have this knack of making people laugh... which I'm glad for.

I want to help people, and aim to live compassionately- and know for certain that my path whatever that shall be be will have a deep connection with creatures working face to face with animals, be them humans or other life on this earth.

I am curently studying a BSc in Herbal Medicine in london town.

PHILOSOPHY

Acceptance of others seems to be an integral part of a happy life and happy lives of others. So that's what I try and do!

Follow your inner moonlight, and don't hide the madness.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music...I like my folk (I organised a gig for tir na nOg, which totally sold out),I like violins, i like piano- check out Philip Glass Metamorphosis Solo Piano, i also like loud drums (they help when you're weeding) Natalie Merchant,Nick Drake, Midlake, Cinematic orchestra,Pentangle,SFA,Deus,The Cure,Cocteau Twins,Elis Regina,Chairlift,Blouse,Amon Tobin,Warpaint... Big into Broadcast at the moment, and sad that Trish died so young. My jamming friends from manchester... Books.. ah Mikhail Bulgakov's Russian satire- Master and Margerita has to be right there at the top,I grew up with the Hobbit and the Hitch hikers guide, Thomas Knealy, Shapiro's work on healing, Mog the forgetful cat, the diving bell and the butterfly, reading Hemmingway at the moment, thoroughly enjoyed Charlotte gray, the reason I didn't list is because there are too many! I'm also spending a lot of time looking at my pictorial atlas of acupuncture. oh i like reading maps. Films- Downfall, Chaplin's Modern Times (forgetting the song scene is priceless), American in Paris, Most of Tautou's weird quirky french films, Les Vampires, Georges Melies 'Le Voyage dans la lune' and I enjoy more mainstream stuff, seem to be going to the cinema more often now that I am in London. The cinema in my village was open every two weeks on saturday evening, I watched snow white there, with my daddy when i was four, and he says it's his favourite film becuase he had such a nice time. ducky.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing i have seen- West of Scotland, early morning, seals in the sea, grey heavy sky, deep seaweed water, grey rocks covered in barnicles... it was incredible- i wanted to eat it.

Teach, Learn, Share

Origami. I am a sponge.
I want to organise more events in the future, i'm interested in mindfulness and meditation and would love to do some non violent communication courses, interactive people stuff.
