About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoying my newfound roots in Bretagne /Brittany while still meeting people from all over the world

ABOUT ME

I'm a batty, clumsy and funny person. I have been loving traveling and discovering new people from all cultures and walk of life for as long as I can remember, way before I was able to communicate in a foreign language.

I’ve moved to Brittany three years ago, I live in a very peaceful hamlet near a small village, between Redon and Vannes in Morbihan. It is a beautiful are and very popular amongst Frenchies ! I am retraining to become a yoga teacher and after completing my training last year, I will give some classes in my village. I’m trying to make yoga accessible for all. I love hiking, especially in the mountains (so not exactly next door…) and the sea, to have a swim or go surfing. I enjoy going out for a concert or a movie, and conferences - I am in activist spheres especially around feminism and ecology.

Before that I used to live in Paris, working on missions for various NGOs, and I also worked in that field in New Zealand and Amsterdam.

PHILOSOPHY

"Hey Jude, don't make it bad, take a sad song, and make it better...don't carry the world, upon your shououououlders"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since I moved to NZ, I am active in the couchsurfing community, and I have been organizing a few language exchanges in Auckland. Being back in Europe, I've kept on participating in CS, though having less time for it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was first a member of hospitality club, and I have hosted people in France and been a guest in Italy. In NZ, I met amazing people through CS events. I love the idea behind couchsurfing of sharing and discovering.

Interests

I like to ride escalators up and down. I like to hitch hike the parisian metro (although drivers don't always get it). I love eating but I don't know how to eat like a lady...I love reading books, but only if there're printed. I love movies, especially the ones where they talk a lot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I saw a whale in French Polynesia. I just had my head under the water, and the rest of my body in the dinghy. I felt so awestruck I didn't take time to take some air in my lungs, and after a bit underwater I realized I had to go up to breathe. But it was hard to take my eyes off the whale and her little one, just 20 meters away...

Teach, Learn, Share

I play some piano, and sing along (off tune) with my friends. I can make mean crepes and pain perdu (french pancakes and posh french toast). I knit a bit. I love mountain sports. I can teach some animal dance moves, the frog/chicken/furret dance being my personal best.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Canada, French Polynesia, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Romania, South Africa, Swaziland, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States
