About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Gradually building life up, mostly on the small island of Ilovik just south of Losinj where I usually stay October until June and then I'm mostly travelling and volunteering around Croatia or abroad during summer until next October with frequent stays in Zagreb.
I'm not on Losinj so don't contact me for any hosting there!
And I'm really sick of frequent requests for hosting in Losinj who obviously don't get this far in reading my profile, so I really don't have nothing to say to people who can't read two sentences and have the nerve to ask someone to host them. That's how couchsurfing lost many of its very active members, because now it's full of selfish superficial idiots. So if you're not one of them, I expect you to start your request with "I can read" and then we can talk and I can maybe give tips or whatever in case I can't host and if I have time and battery on the phone to answer.

Also, recently I got married so I'll stay in Zagreb more than before.

ABOUT ME
i'm not always smiling nor always energetic and loving, caring, etc. but still many people tend to think that i am always smiling, that i am really a nice guy. i think that i am a human with ups and downs, but i'm definitely always opened to non-selfish people and helping to good people when i can. sometimes i disregard my own life because of that and then have problems, but that's my choice, isn't it?
i am from Zagreb but i moved to the island of Cres, then Losinj and now i'm mostly staying on the small island Ilovik, just a bit south of Losinj, where i'm getting into olive oil production, gardening and other activities, mostly working with my own two hands and not the heavy machinery. other than that i could probably be found in Zagreb or some other locations. i worked for some local NGOs, working in cultural tourism and then with children & youth. along that i am helping out in organizing some art events. i have different ideas what else could i do here but time will tell.
naturally, i can never be completely sure that i won't change the direction of my life. at the moment i'm trying to build a new life on an island, but if that won't work out, i'll move on, of course. since i can be quite stubborn and determined sometimes, i don't expect this to happen soon, no matter how hard and lonely life on the island can be, sometimes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

i'll offer a couch when i can and maybe i'll send a request for one if i need it, although that will be extremely rare since i don't travel a lot and i'm really not using it anymore, i moved to trustroots and bewelcome and don't use cs that much anymore.
i did have many positive experiences in past 10 years though.
what i think is negative are the people who don't reply at all. i really totally respect a simple "No!" as an answer contrary to no reply. the sooner the better. that way travellers can plan things better, and not wait for the answer, hoping it will come someday.

Interests

people and the planet, the sea and the islands, humanity and society, anti-consumerism and creativity, sunsets, thorns, geckos, open fires, ... bring some (wine, hats, documentaries, picture books, cakes, tobacco, teas, hard liquers, olive oil, chocolates, cheeses, cartoons and maybe even dry fruits) from your country! or just tell me a nice fairy tale.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

none and many, depends on the perspective and the moment. sometimes water flowing in the river is amazing, and sometimes there's nothing exceptional in pyramids, it's just another work of human hands and mind. really realizing that life is miraculous, that is amazing.
