About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To "enlarge" my world; ultimately to build connections and learn more about others.

ABOUT ME

I am currently in my last year of medical school, and I love to meet people! I live in the United States, but I spent the first part of my life in France, and my family lives in across multiple countries. I am lucky enough to have opportunities to live in different parts of the world, and I did my MA degree in Ireland, where I actually rented a room from someone who had hosted me in the past! I think traveling is an incredible tool for bridging cultural gaps, and the only way to really do that is to get out of the tour bus and have a real conversation. Even though I am in medical school, I would call myself an ever-curious person and am always ready for new conversations.

PHILOSOPHY

Well, my personal philosophy is always in motion...but ultimately: be yourself, be compassionate, and respect the world around you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far, I have mostly been a guest and not a host. When I was living in France, I loved going to meet ups as well, and meeting people I wouldn't have met other wise. I was roommates with someone who hosted couchsurfers for a while, and really enjoyed that experience. Unfortunately, with medical school's craziness, I'm not exactly in a position to host, but I would love to in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have actually only stayed in a hotel a few times in my life while traveling! Whether it's with my family or family friends, I try to stay with people from the places I am visiting. So far, I've loved all of my CS experiences, and I look forward to meeting more people and making new friends!

Interests

Biking, Running, VOLLEYBALL <3, Art/Art history, Public Health, Music, FOOD (seriously though, I love food). Basically, I love DOING something, whether it's getting outside for a hike or sitting around a cheap bottle with friends and good conversation.

Music, Movies, and Books

This sort of stuff isn't exactly how I define myself, but I had these up from years ago when I first couchsurfed so I figured I'd just leave them:

Movies - depends on the mood, but I'll pretty much go for anything but horror. I am a huge fan of dark comedies (i.e. - Punch Drunk Love, Stranger Than Fiction), and a good romantic movie when the timing's right. Movies that leave me more educated than when I started watching them generally get an A+! Side note, I also just love A Knight's Tale, it's hilarious.

Music - too hard, I love music.

Books: This is a toughy. Since going to college it's been hard to find time for pleasure reading. I do enjoy most of the books for my classes though!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sharing mint tea with my moroccan grandmother; we don't have a common language but somehow communicate just fine, always an amazing experience.
